Uniquely High Street

High Street is home to Ohio's only conveyor belt sushi restaurant. Zen Sushi + More is across from the Convention Center. High Street will also soon be home to the first restaurant by the 2005 Best Cook in America. Richard Rosendale of the Greenbriar Resort, chose the Short North for his first restaurant. This will be in the old Winders Auto Dealership building at Hubbard and High St. next to the likes of Collier West (above), Vino100, and Substance (below). Pretty snazzy.

The old Quizno's on "the Cap" (the bridge over I-670) is becoming the "Cap Diner", PJ's Cap Diner to be exact. Large LCD TV's abound in eateries and other businesses in the Short North. Free Wi-Fi is getting pretty common, especially in the Campus Gateway area.

November Gallery Hops: cold and light

The November, 2006 gallery hop was during a sub-freezing temperature drop, the first of the autumn season. So, the crowd was light, but nobody seemed to have planned much for the monthly event, either. The Ohio Art League (above) made the hop opening also their reception opening, the first that has happened.

A large drum ensemble dominated the sound of the November gallery hop (above). They played on Buttles Avenue at High Street. Thankfully, there wasn't much politicing this gallery hop. There were a few low-key campaigners, but radio stations seemed to have a bigger presence. A demo of a Movie DVD vending machine was on the "Cap".
